January thru July 2014 Cumulative
210.5 Trail MilesWow, I went back through my Daytimer and added up all the hikes I have done since January and it came to 210.5 miles. 130 of those miles was over the last four months. Not bad really. I'm carrying a 15-20 lb pack each trip out. Perfect training. I am so, so fortunate to live in the Northwest! The trails out here are beyond my meager ability to put into writing. But I do know, that I have seen a whole lot of places that few have had the privilege to, not only see, but experience really, because all of your senses are in full use when you are walking with Nature.

My pack is getting smaller all the time :o). These are my two long time hiking buddies. This was a three day backpack. This was January 25-27, 2014. My pack weighed in at 36lbs. Very comfortable compared to my old ways.

I will be doing a section hike from Stevens Pass to Snoqualmie pass pretty soon. Will text out equipment of an 80mile walk along the PCT. I hope to run into some SOBO thru hikers (Hikers that start at the Canadian border and go South to the Mexican border) but I kinda doubt it, its getting late for starting south bound. Ive been following a hiker that his going to "flip". She is finishing up the Sierra section of the trail, and is then going to go north to the Canadian border and hike south to where she left off, thus completing the trail in one season.
OK, that's it for now. I'll post from my section hike once its done. I'll be taking my electronics with me and blogging every day, but most likely won't be able to transmit until I get to Snoqualmie Pass. It's pretty remote in this section. Pretty much like that all the way to Canada from this point.
Until then, Happy Trails
